‘Feature Request’ Copy/Paste/Edit

Dear Apple… you have power to create a ‘Starter iPhone’ designed for younger users, not a stripped-down adult phone. This would protect healthy development, align with expert recommendations, and give parents the safer choice they need. As a parent and loyal customer, I am requesting basic features like App Limits that reliably work and a Co-Parent mode for millions of 2-household families. #iParent101 #StarteriPhone #CoParentMode

1-minute question for Apple
  • Over half of U.S. kids have a smartphone by age 11; 88% of U.S. teens own an iPhone.

  • Many parents want to delay phones — but when they buy, they often want Apple’s ecosystem.

  • Apple is listening — but only if enough parents speak up now.

This isn’t just smart. It’s common sense, and Apple can build it better than anyone.

💡 Why Apple?

Many well‑intentioned companies, such as Bark , Gabb, and Pinwheel, are creating thoughtfully designed phones for kids that prioritize safety, healthy habits, and parental oversight.

These are excellent options, and I often recommend them to families looking for a safe first device. However, the reality is that Apple dominates this market. Even with strong competition, most families are seeking the familiarity, trust, and connected ecosystem of an iPhone, making it clear why we need a Starter iPhone designed from the ground up for young users, not just an adult phone with restrictions bolted on.

The core idea is simple: features and access should be turned on by parents–not something they have to struggle to turn off.

This aligns with Apple’s new Health mission: supporting prevention, emotional regulation, and long-term wellness — this time, for the next generation.
